  • Bosch PEX270 and which pads?

after a long thought and that exams are over i think i will get the pex270 since i dont really need the power of the pex400 and i wanted to get some megs pads.

however the 270 has a 125mm backing but the megs pads are 8" big

    would it matter?

also i only want to use it for just a light cut and just a finishing off a car, so which pad should i get?

i think im gonna get these 2:

    Softbuff Foam Finishing Pad
Luxurious foam pampers the finish to create flawless high gloss. 8 inch diameter. Velcro backed for quick and easy attachment to W65A and rotary buffer.

    Softbuff Foam Polishing Pad
Active polishing action removes minor surface imperfections and restores high gloss. 8 inch diameter. Velcro backed for quick and easy attachment to W65A and rotary buffer.

    they also have:

    Softbuff Foam Cutting Pad
Heavy cutting action without leaving swirl marks created by wool pads. 8 inch diameter. Velcro backed for quick and easy attachment to W65A and rotary buffer.

Cut ' N Shine Wool PadAggressive cutting action to remove serious paint imperfections. 8 inch diameter. Velcro backed for quick and easy attachment to W65A and rotary buffer.

which product should i use witht eh finishing pad and the polishing pad? at the moment the only products wax related i have is NXT wax should i get this?

Re: Bosch PEX270 and which pads?

I have the Bosch PEX 400 and like it, I mostly use it for finishing and waxing though.

Meg's also makes 6,5" pads, look for the 8006 (polishing) and 9006 (finishing). The machine probably won't be able to do any work with the 8" pads. You shouldn't use a cutting or wool pad on a DA polisher.

For products #80 is a very versatile cleaner/polish, but you really should inspect the paint you're working on, and select the product based on that.
