  • Need to start with Step 1 if using #9?

    Hi there.
I just picked up some #9 and was wondering if I need to apply Step 1 (paint cleaner) before the #9. I just don't want to be doing double duty if I can help it. It looks like the #9 can do the same job as the Step 1.
    Any help would be great.

    Hi simon,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

#9 Swirl Free Polish is a cleaner/polish that best results are achieved when used by machine. That said, it makes an excellent gentle paint cleaner when applied by hand.

        Hi Mike,

Yes you can use the #9 with any orbital polisher and get better results than you would with your hand alone.

The difference between #9 and Deep Crystal Polish is the Deep Crystal Polish is a Pure Polish and the #9 is a Cleaner/Polish.

Just one mans opinion... Having used #9 2.0 several times it does a great job cleaning and polishing. I use #9 2.0 as step 1 then I use a polish as well like #81, then on to wax. I have found that adding a dedicated polish to the mix helps deepen the shine after the #9 2.0 has been applied. You might just have to play with it and see what you come up with!
