  • Boomer shine needs more shine....

Hey folks, heres the deal. I bought a new 06' Accord in July and had the dealer put something called boomer shine on. It's supposed to be a thin ceramic coating to protect paint, the shine and all that stuff. Problem is everytime I wash the car, I see more swirly marks and scratches.

How do make my car shine like its supposed to and get out these swirls from this ceramic coating?

i say after you wash your car, clay it and do use the deep crystal sytem polish. i think that thin ceramic whatever thing is a contamination. it do more harm than good
before u rev em up, shine em up!

Hey Picassokid, I can tell you what happened to your car. Apparently, the dealer either applied Boomer Shine to a car that already was waxed and sitting on the lot for 30 days and when you took delivery, you never noticed the fine scratches that were already there, or you ran it through a car wash with brushes and those fine scratches could damage the finish. It specifically says in your 5 year warranty that you are not supposed to run it through a car wash with brushes. If it was a soft cloth car wash, then the scratches were there when you bought the car.

The frustrated detailer is right! You need to clay bar the finish of a used car to remove the impurities in order to maximize the lustre of Boomer Shine. If your car came from a dealer, they should have preped the car by dewaxing it. When a new car is taken off of the car carrier, all cars nowadays have the white paper cover to protect them from acid rain and the elements. As soon as that paper is removed, and as soon as the glue is removed from the finish, that is when Boomer Shine is applied to give it a beautiful lustre which will last for years and it is guaranteed by the manufacturer. In order to maintain that shine, you need to follow the instructions...........wash it in a soft cloth car wash.

I was able to get a bottle of Boomer Shine and I applied it to my black, 8 month old lexus SUV. I also applied it over the 6 or 7 waxes that I did throughout the 8 months and of course, like a dummy, I did not remove the impuities (it says it right on the instructions) so, my car is beautiful but when I look real close, I see the same things that you see because the car was not properly prepared. So, I speak from experience!!

Read the instructions Mr Dealer before applying the product for your customers.

AS a consumer, I love the benefits of Boomer Shine.......repels acid rain, bird droppings, love bugs, brake dust.......nothing sticks to it!! It is the only product that I know of that does the whole exterior from bumper to bumper........the plastic bumper, the headlights, the paint, the windshield, glass, chrome, moldings, rubber and most importantly, the wheels for the dreaded brake dust.

The product from what I understand has only been around for a few months and no one really knows about it but everyone will hear about it sooner or later!!

        Hope this helps!!

Just to note, posts like this, especially when they are the first post by a new member read like you're shilling for Boomer products.

Any wax that comes with a guarantee is also subject to scrutiny because historically they've all been proven worthless.

          Time to do some checking...

Yeah I tried Googling it to and only found this thread. We like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but we've also been posting to the Internet since 1993.

The radar is pretty sensitive to these types of posts.

While we don't allow commercial links, if anyone has the website for "Boomer Shine" products, please send it to me in a Private Message.

              Thanks,

I found it. Its’ still under construction. What’s there is a single page that looks like a printed flyer, you know the usual stuff, amazing technology, incredible breakthrough, wax is obsolete, protects anything and everything, greatest thing since sliced bread, etc but no mention of the company, it’s background, how the product was developed, where it’s manufactured or by who.

                PM sent.

                  Thanks Paul,

I checked it out, looks like another miracle product, promises the world, can be used on anything, better than everything yada yada yada...

Somehow puts ceramic on your car, kind of like all those other gimicky products put t-e-f-l-o-n on you car.

Re: Boomer shine needs more shine....

What we have is probably somebody who was lured into buying a "special sealant" that claims to hold up for years, telling the buyer that they'd never have to wax and it would protect their paint from impurities.

All they are paying for is a wax job. More specifically, a wax that holds no credibility (I also did a google search, this stuff seems to be pretty nonexistent).

What these swirl marks are are from improper washing routine as well as the outdoor elements. I suggest reading as much as you can about the writeups people do in the show off and extreme makeover threads as well as past posts in the other categories of this forum. With time, you too can understand what car care products are of high quality, how swirl marks and other paint defects are created, and how to properly remove them.

EVERY product like the so-called "boomer shine" is garbage. WE all KNOW that so can we just delete posts that sound as commercial as the one in this thread? I know that I am not going to get the one minute of my life back so I figure this should work.

                        Thanks Mike.
