paint on the pad or just oxidation?

After polishing with M83 using the PC i noticed some red color on the pad(hence, the paint was red) , but the results were very good. Is this oxidation from the sunlight coming off? The paint was much brighter and richer afterwards. Also, my friend with a black car said he noticed some "darkening" of his pad after cleaning/polishing, hence his paint or oxidation was coming off as well.

Is this normal/what is it?

Well, could be a bit of both, and esp dirt if this is your first time cleaning the surface well.

If both of your paints are single stage, then it is certainly normal for some pigment transfer to occur.
