  • is this true??

so i got my sample bottle of #66, and ill have to admit it looks and smells just like colorx. did i get the right stuff?

anyway, i read somewhere in this forum that #66 doesnt remove swirls, it just fills them in because it contains fillers. is this true? being that #66 is stronger than colorx, and colorx removes swirls, #66 should also remove swirls and not hide them but it doesnt claim too in its description on the meguiars online store.

    Re: is this true??

Well, I am not sure what #66 looks like, so someone will need to confirm that.

But #66 is a stronger cleaner, and will remove swirls. That said, the polish and wax that the product contains will "fill in" any swirls left behind. It just makes sense that anything left behind on the surface would fill in any gouges in the surface.

Yes, #66 looks and smells much like ColorX. And no, it is not true that it only fills swirls. It does contain diminishing abrasives and can remove swirls.

As always, its aggressiveness depends on the paint, the pad, the application machine and your technique.

Note that the aggressiveness scale on the bottle shows it as a 4. It’s about the same as #80.
