Well, they are intended to remove different types of contaminates....

Clay will remove above surface contaminates.... to determine if clay is needed, wash and dry your vehicle then run your hand over the surface of the paint(mainly the hood, roof and trunk) if it feels rough to the touch clay is needed to remove the contaminates.

#83 will remove below surface contaminates, things like fine scratches, swirls, etches and so on.

You have to evaluate the surface you are working on and determine what the best product selection might be.... does that help? not really huh!?!?

    so.....

You can skip the clay and go directly to #83 if there are no above surface contaminates and then move on to a pure polish or directly to a wax of your choice.

Thank you so much for your quick response, your tips really help but I was thinking if #83 could remove below surface contaminates and naturally it would remove surface contaminates as well , am right to say that ? Can it work that way ? sorry to say that cos Meg product is the most high price compared to others in my area so, I must carefully chose to right product...

        Re: #83 or clay ???

Is #80 too mild of a cleaner/polish to solve the swirls you have?

As far as claying goes, the reason is:

If the contaminant is loose, it could stick to the pad, and being moved around, just add swirls.

If the contaminant is firmly attached, the foam pad can actually just bounce over it, and not remove it.
