  • NXT wax surprised me

In the past NXT has lost is water sheeting action quickly. I gave my truck a full going over almost 2 months ago and washed it today after some fierce weather lately. To my surprise it still sheeted and my polishing looked as good as when I did it. So I put a coat of 20 on anyway to make sure.

Man I was impressed. 2 thumbs up for Megs.

I did notice the reflection was very sharp.

Thanks for sharing that... A couple of weeks ago at one of our Wednesday night classes everyone pitched in to help me clay, polish and wax my new/old car and the paint looks great and it's slick as oil on ice.

I never prepped the surface like I do now(thanks to all the great enthusiasts here). I am very pleased at how the paint stayed protected. It was great to wash and wax and have it look just as good.

I got four months sheeting from NXT paste. At the end of its lifecycle, the water pools up, but as it starts to evaporate and thin out, the NXT is still able to break the water film up and help it to sheet away.
Observing this phenomenon is essential to understand the protection of NXT.

I'm confused. I have strictly used NXT wax after washing and claying my car but I get water beading action, not sheeting. Assuming your finish is protected, it would have higher surface tension and bead, right? And yet, sheeting is a more desirable trait since that would reduce water spots.

The initial beading reverts back to sheeting after a couple of weeks, and it stays that way. Note: in the rain, the finish beads as usual.
