K so i was looking close up on a car and seen it had swirll marks from Prolly, a dirty drying towl/somthing along them lines thay are not deep but noticible in Bright sun light, now would it be a wise idea to use the scratch X on the whole car?
At this time i have no power equipment but would not have a problem doing it all by hand or what other swirll remover do you recommend? TIA

    Re: scratch X

If you're working by hand, your best option is to use ScratchX over the entire car, it's not just for spot-repair. Work small section at at time, about a foot squared. Overlap your section and remove the product after working it in and against the paint before moving on to new sections.

After ScratchX, polish with a pure polish like Deep Crystal Polish and the top with a wax of your choice.

      Re: scratch X

If you're going to do the entire car, you might want to consider just doing a section each weekend or wash cycle (and, of course, wax over those sections where you've applied Scratch-X) The product works really well, it just takes a long time and a goodly amount of effort. If you've got an older tube that says to let the product dry.....DON'T.

And feel free to do a panel or so a day... best to focus on one area. If you try to do to much at once, you'll lose focus and not get the results. Just do one foot squares at a time.

              Re: scratch X

Against the paint actualy means work it fairly firmly against and into the paint.. not just wiping it back and forth. Good bit of passion into it.

There is a video on showcargarage.com on the front page that I believe just touches on ScratchX a little as well.

                  Re: scratch X

Nobody said life was easy Color-X is more of a cleaner wax. It'll remove some of the really light swirls as well as clean the paint but it's just not made to do much more. Work it in really well....let it dry...then buff. A second coat of NXT (or other wax of your choice) applied on top will give it a really nice, well protected, shine.............but deep swirls are just going to take a lot of time and effort by hand.
