  • Waxing in the cold, can I speed up drying time?

    Hi everyone!
New member & new Meguiar's user here!
I just purchased an 04 Dodge Ram 4X4 (black). I live in Ontario & winter is just around the corner. I was wondering if it's possible to speed up the wax drying/hazing time as it seems to take awhile now that it's colder. Today it was about 46F & it took a good 15-20 minutes to set up. I know from reading this great site that 50F is about as low as they recommend for waxing but I need to get my paint protected before the winter. The dealer waxed it before I took it home but needless to say, the surface was in need of some proper TLC. It's in pretty good shape but I had to clay the truck & am useing DC paint cleaner before waxing.

Also how do I re-apply wax in the winter months? I've been reading this forum & it seems NXT only lasts a few weeks?

    Many thanks!

Other than apply indoors, there is no real way to speed things up.

Nxt will last longer, but it loses it glossiness and slickness a bit quicker than other waxes.

As far as reapplying, cleaner/waxes are a nice option, to speed things up. Either a cleaner/wax alone, or cleaner/wax topped with a regular wax, like Nxt, #21, etc.
