  • Motorcycle seats?

    Hey all,

What would be a good product to use on motorcycle seats? I would like something that will clean and protect them. It doesn't matter to me if it is one product that does both things, or two products. It has to be something that is not slippery at all though. I tried the consumer line One-step leather care (even though the seat wasn't leather, I figured it was worth a try), which is a cleaner and conditioner, but it was too slick. Any suggestions?

    M40 Rubber Vinyl Cleaner/Conditioner
Note: This comes in both 1-gallon containers and 16 ounce spray bottles

After applying, working in, use a clean, dry microfiber to re-wipe the seat for a clean, dray rich matte appearance that's not slippery.

Would the gold glass product leave the same non-slippery surface?

You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

I use Gold Class Leather cleaner/Conditioner but you have to remember to work it in really well and then take a clean cloth and give it another wipe over as it can leave the seat slippery.....but useing the apply and wipe off technic I haven't had a problem..............yet

            Re: Motorcycle seats?

Hey Mike does the M40 rubber/vinly cleaner work on Leather seats? I thought that vinyl cleaners could only be used on vinyl products where the leather cleaners could be used on vinyl and leather products. Please tell me if I am wrong.

The only motorcycles I see on occasion that have vinyl seats are dirt bikes and sports......both of which I try to stay away from, but all the cruisers I have done/seen only have leather seats.

Wow. Maybe it is a leather seat. I asked my Dad and he said it was vinyl. He didn't look at it before he said it, though, so maybe it is leather. I think it looks like leather, but then again they can make vinyl that looks like leather. It's a 2003 or 2001 Yamaha V-Star Custom (cruiser). Either way #40 seemed to work great. If it's best to use a leather cleaner/conditioner on the seats, though, I'll probably just get the GC stuff you use.

I use GC leather stuff on my leather steering wheel and it does great. I let it sit over night with ALOT on it then wipe it off the next morning so its not slick. Works out great.

I guess a steering wheel in a vehicle is as important as a seat on a motorcycle..
