  • Polish for light colored vehicles

    Hi everyone,
Since car polishes are specially formulated for dark-colored cars, do i get any benefit from polishing light colored cars (to be more specific - satin silver). Thanks in advance.

You don't really see a visual difference, but paint is paint and Meguiar's pure polishes are good for the paint whether you can see a difference or not.

I don't know where you got the idea that "car polishes are specially formulated for dark-colored cars" since any color car can and will end up with swirls in the paint, and these swirls can be polished out and the overall appearance improved because of it. As Mike mentioned the difference may not be as dramatic on a lighter colored car, but a friend of mine just acquired a pre-owned Mercedes S Class in Diamond Silver and it's badly swirled. I have offered to correct this for him as it's quite noticeable in bright sunlight, and a good polishing would work wonders on this car.

The idea comes from the fact that companies advertise that way.
