  • 1989 ford mustang renewal help..

Hey i'm back with a new ride,
The other replies on my posts helped me out alot with the newer rides i done...appreciate it. Now i got my moms b/f's 89 ford mustang that oxidation got the better of it afte the years even with him taking care of it with wax and reg. wash, so i'm looking to try and get it shining again before he wastes a grand on the paint job. It is all black(faded looking now) and shows little white swirls. First needed to know if it was possible and second.. just asking if this is the right steps to do it:
    1) Clay bar( needed any tips for best and easy results)
    2) Paint cleaner(any extra hints)
    3) Polish(any recommended)
    4) Wax(thinking NXT paste will be best from looking at other posts)
    Any advice will help out.
Used that NXT Spay-on wax on the newer rides past weekend after wash and it wash shining beautifully... really like the results...later

Well, hopefully the white swirls are just that, and not any sort of failure. But you might not know for sure until it is cleaned up and you can take a good look. But all you really need to do is the regular steps. You are working by hand?

      1. Wash - Use a good wash, etc.

      2. Clay - If you havent clayed, it is pretty easy. Just break the bar into a couple pieces, in case you drop one. And wipe the clay back and forth until it stops grabbing.

      3. Clean - Working by hand, you will need ScratchX to remove the swirls. Doing a whole car will ****, but it is doable. Then you can use Deep Crystal #1 on areas you dont use ScratchX. If you do plan to ScratchX, dont plan to finish in one day, or enlist help.

      4. Polish - DC#2 or #7 Show Car Glaze are good.

      5. Wax - Sure, Nxt or any other wax will look good.
