can not produce a clear reflection Y ????

I have been trying to produce a clear reflection image but dose not seem to be working for me
Did a A4 Audi last week car looked exellent to me and the owner
but in the reflection shot it is not NEED HELP
Ref photo



I tryed on a black test panel the same thing looked good in shed but not outside in the sun
What i did was
Rotary 83
cyclo 80 4 passes
still turned out like the photo
even my dark blue 4x4 is the same
where i have gone wrong ???

If I could get somewhere close to this i would be more than happy

Well, two thoughts.. It might look a little crisper if you backed up further, and it looks like there might be orange peel there. So being real close is going to make the orange peel effect worse.

Just a quick questions,

Is the panel clear when you look at it with you eyes in the same position as when you're taking a picture with your camera?

I have a couple. I use 80 alot, with rotary, when I start out I work with the 8006, polishing pad, not trying to get out everything but most all. After I do the hole truck I go back with 80 and a finishing pad, 9006. You won't believe the finished product.

Its not really the amount of product you use. That kind of shine, gloss, reflextion comes from the smoothness, flatness, of the paint. Getting all the humps and bumps out of it. To do this you just about always have to use a rotary. In doing this you most always, not always get halograms. Thats why Mike says to make your last step with the PC. To make paint flat you have to make some heat, thats why a rotary does this so well. With that being said, Mike and Joe are EXPERTS with the rotary with MANY YEARS of experiance. You can do it with a PC, it just takes alot longer.

A year or so ago Joe did a Mercedes where he wetsanded THE WHOLE CAR. That paint was perfectly flat and it had such a shine and reflextion on it that it looked invisable. But he is a Pro. So getting a good shine is not really as much product as it is technic. Just keep trying. It does'nt happen overnight. Good Luck
