I use a combo of both when washing my car. I use the brush down low, on the side skirts, around the fenders, and lower half of the doors. I use a mitt on everything else.
I tend to use the wash mitts when the vehicle has light dirt. If the vehicle's paint is heavyly soiled I used the brush just becuase it has a bit more scrubbing power.
The only brushes I use are wheel ones, besides that I have lambswool mitts for painted surfaces (1 for first wash, and a second for the second wash) and a microfibre mitt for skirts and wheels (outer section) and the wheel brush for hard to reach areas.
I also us a combination... small body brush for the front of my vehicle (gets in all the curves and grill), large body brush for my bed cover/roof and wash mitt for the rest.
I use the Wide Body Brush on my '01 Grand Prix and love it. It cut my wash time down from around 30-40 minutes with a mitt to probably around 20. The bristles are so soft they probably shouldn't even call it a brush (especially when most of us think brush like at those self-serve places). Also any dirt you get on the brush rinses quickly with your bucket of water in the two bucket wash system. I have also used the brush on trucks and it works wonders for reaching those hard to reach places. Overall it's another great Meguiar's product.

I use the wide body brush. I still have a mit, but my right shoulder has been acting up, and the brush allows me to cut down on the movement. My Honda Pilot goes so much easier, especially the roof. Less climbing up and down on the step-stool. Even on my Mini, I find the brush easier to use. Less bending to do the lower reaches like the trim on the bottom of the doors. Love that long handle and super soft bristles!!
If I got a brush, I would have to use both that and a mit to clean my entire jeep. The way the front end is made and with the tire on the back, a brush wouldnt get it all clean..
