  • NXT liquid wax + PC

Will this remove the swirl marks? I saw a method on here of how to apply the wax(vertical, horizontal, and diagonally), and I can't seem to find it. What is the best method to apply this stuff? I have the WolfGang pads; orange and white pads that are 6.5", and blue and yellow buffer pads that are 7.5".

Which should I use? I've used the Orange pad for "cutting", but I haven't used any other pads before.

How much pressure should I apply? What is the best speed setting(2-4)?

e; How long should I wait to wipe off the wax after it is dusty?

NXT wax isn't really a swirl removing product. It can fill in the swirls, but if you want to actually remove the swirls, I would recommend a product like #80 or ScratchX.

As for how much pressure you should use to apply NXT wax, if I remember correctly, you should apply about 10-15 pounds of pressure. The best speed setting to apply the wax is 3. You should wait to wipe off the wax until it passes the swipe test, which is usually about 15 minutes. Since NXT doesn't have any swirl removing power, all you are trying to do is make sure wax gets into any miniscule pits in the paint, so to apply it you should just make sure to go over each spot 2-3 times (was that a run-on sentance? lol). I'm not sure what pad you should use; I think a finishing pad would be the correct one, but I'm not sure so I'll let an expert answer that question.

Give this thread a good reading - lots of great info:

How to use the G-100 to remove swirls

Look at this one for product/pad/speed selections:

Product, Pad and Speed settings for the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher

You won't remove swirls with NXT liquid wax since it's just that, a wax (well, a synthetic sealant really, but basically the same thing) and not a cleaner or polish. You'll need something like M80 or similar to get rid of the swirls, then follow up with the NXT or similar to protect the finish. The first article linked to above should help out quite a bit with the process. The second article above will give you some additional clarification as to which pad to use with which product.

There's an expert with the advice lol. I would definately recommend you read that first thread he posted. It has some awesome info in it. I've read it about 4 times and it seems like each time I read it, I learn something new (no, I don't have amnesia ).
