  • Question about a brand of wax I haven't heard of??

First of all this is not a plug for another product! I was wondering if any of you have heard of, or used, or know anyting about these products
    jaxwax.us/ [Edited for commercial link]
A friend of mine swears by the stuff, and I am trying to cross him over to the Meguiars side.. ANY information would be GREAT, heard of it? Used it? seen it on cars, reviews, thoughts on the stuff, ANYTHING! Thanks in advance!

Re: Question about a brand of wax I haven't heard of??

Can’t say anything good or bad about the company or its products. I’d never heard of them before. Not surprising since nobody west of Indiana sells the stuff. Little local car wax companies are apparently pretty common.

I have to say I find their advertising, uh, interesting.

    Here's a secret:
Ever wonder how Detailers make a car look so good?
    It's the PRODUCTS they use!

Gee, all this time I thought skill, dedication and hard work had something to do with it. Somebody better tell Superior Shine he’s working too hard and sweating over technique too much when all he needs to do is sit back and let the products do everything.

For over 15 years, J** W** Car Care products have been used by the automotive trade.
OK, right. In other words that bottle of #7 I used on my car the other day has been around longer than their company (my particular bottle, not the overall product, which was around before WWII). And Meguiar’s was servicing “the automotive trade” for fifty years before they started selling consumer products. And that was more than thirty years ago. Got it.

    They do sell clay.
"Claying" a car is one of the most simple, dramatic new detailing processes to be developed in years!
New process eh? And this bar of clay that’s in Mike’s collection is about as old as their whole company.

Cruising around their website all I see are products for maintaining finishes that are already in excellent shape, waxes, QD, soap, etc, nothing for removing defects. I didn’t see even mild (cutting) cleaners or polishes, let alone compounds. As long as your friend’s car is pristine I see no reason he wouldn’t be able to maintain it with those products (as long as he uses good technique, but wait, with their products he doesn't need to do that ).

People get pretty attached to things. Unless he’s open to begin with it’s unlikely you’ll be able to convince him with words. Just smile politely and nod when he goes on about the stuff. Then ask him what to do about all those swirls on his car.

    PC.
