  • ScratchX vs. ColorX

When would you use ScratchX as opposed to ColorX ?

    Re: ScratchX vs. ColorX

ScratchX is a paint cleaner, you would use it when you want to remove defects of and out of the paint and then aftwards you plan on applying either/or a pure polish and then a wax.

ColorX is a paint cleaner, polish and wax all-in-one and you would use it when you want to do one thing to the paint and be able to clean, polish and protect the paint.

What are you working on, what are your goals?

Do they actually remove the swirls and scratches or do they fill them?

Well, sorta depends on you.. if you work the products in properly, and work them long enough and hard enough, they will remove the swirls. ScratchX is probably better at removing swirls, if you are willing to put in the effort.

I'm going to use both today for my first time. Actually first time doing a full detail with all Meguiars products. But from my reading, it sounds like a good idea to use both ScratchX and then ColorX before Waxing for a complete clean/polish/wax if you don't plan on doing several polishing steps.

I too have some small swils so this should do the trick if I put lots a passion into it.

Please let me know how it goes....Are you using a PC or are you going to apply it by hand?
