  • Backing plate for a rotary buffer??

    I bought a Black & Decker rotary buffer and I would like to know if I buy a meguiars backing plate for meguiars pads, do I need any adapter o or similar to adjust the plate to the machie??

    Some Black & Decker rotary buffers are a general consumer type rotary buffer and have a 3/8 auger.

    Most Black & Decker rotary buffers will have the Industry Standard 5/8 auger.


    As long as our buffer has the 5/8 diameter auger, coarse thread, then any standard backing plate will screw on. If you have the light duty model it's possible to do a work-around using a heli-coil, but the motor isn't heavy duty enough for the work load you're contemplating subjecting the buffer to.
