Thanks for the tip. Guess that would make sense, there has to be a hose coming out down there. Now to just try to get under there. The engine bay is packed so tight.

What kind of wax do you use on your windshield? You've never had any problems with it smearing?

Nope no problem's at all, i use liq, or paste wax Gold class, i apply it let it dry to a haze and then whipe it off, works great and is cool looking when it rains or water is apply to window lol..

I use both RainX and the washer liquid in all of the cars I have had and I add it too all of my clients cars as well and I have never had a problem with it.

I also use RainX on my motorcycle helmet visors and windshields to great effect.

About 6mths ago I notice the RainX anti-fog so I gave that awhirl and it works well in the car but stuffed my motorcycle visor up as it made it go all cloudy and you couldn't see out it at all. But it did say don't apply to plastic so I'm still happy to use it for in the car.

Now I have had luck with RainX and just now started using their washer fluid and so far so good. Now their anti-fog seemed to leave a haze on my windows and I was disappointed.

BTW, aquapel is now called trico view glass treatment. I just got some free with my last wiper blade order. Same stuff, different name. It definitely lasts 6 months per application like they state.

Interesting to bump a 5 year old thread for this.

Are you sure they changed the name...or is it that Trico made their own window treatment product like many other companies?

I know that Trico purchased PPG which owned aquapel (I read it somewhere and then bought it). The packaging is the exact same with new printing on it. Maybe Trico still sells it as Aquapel too...I don't know.

I've been looking for something that shows PPG was bought through Google for a little bit now, and the only thing I can find are posts all over the internet by a "Jeff" and "jeff618" with an almost word for word response stating the same thing.

The only two things I can find are that PPG's own website says nothing about them and Trico anything, but does say PPG bought a large company in 2008, and Trico was bought by Kohlberg.

I'm still curious...

All I can tell you is that the packaging and product looks exactly the same as Aquapel and I was reasurred this from the store I bought it at. The one thing I don't know is if they're producing it under both names...I just assumed no. Apparently, Trico didn't purchase PPG for Aquapel, but for their automotive glass capability. Trico engineers the wiper systems for many of the vehicles produced by many of the manufacturers in Detroit. They felt if they were also designing the windshield glass along side of the wiper blades, they could improve performance. Now they not only know the exact curve of the glass and the wipers, they can control the curve of both. I'm sure it allows them to get more engineering and design deals out of Detroit.
