Doesn't Wal-Mart sell Aquapel? I know they sell an alternative to Rain-X along with Rain-X.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks everyone. Well, I washed the truck again today.....and it did it again!!! This is so strange!! Does anyone have any tips for removing Rain-x? As of right now I do not recommend using Rain-x wipes. I will purchase regular Rain-x this week. If I can figure out how to remove the current application, I will apply traditional Rain-x to one window and then apply a Rain-x wipe to the next one. I will give equal time to dry and remove the haze. I'll post back here when I do this little test. Who knows, it might just be the wipes........

Try removing it with some glass cleaner and #0000 steel wool, but please be carefull! although I have never heard of this damaging glass, use caution because you are using an abrasive.

Alcohol will get it off. Use a terry towel and soak it with the alcohol. It should take it all off.

I used to have Rain-X windshield wiper fluid and it didn't do much.

I would stay away from this product. I did a detail on a black Montero Sport some years ago, the owner used Rain-X wiper fluid, and it left two dull gray streaks on the hood around the squirters. Nothing I couldn't fix with some cleaner wax, but the product apparently stripped the wax off.

I only use the stuff when its raining for this reason. The orange stuff is also a bug wash and de-icer. Im sure it has some very rough stuff in it..

No didn't put it in yet but I do have to get Turtle Wax's washer fluid out... after I poured it in I read the bottle saying it only protects to 25 degrees!?!? not that great here in Iowa during the winter, I guess thats why TW was on clearance this fall.

Easy, there should be a clamp on the tank(bottom side) were the hose connects to the tank to the squirters, just disconnect it and let it drain... I just use Wax on the windshield WORKS great when it rain, never use the wipers... Way better then rain x

Thanks for the tip. Guess that would make sense, there has to be a hose coming out down there. Now to just try to get under there. The engine bay is packed so tight.

What kind of wax do you use on your windshield? You've never had any problems with it smearing?

So you all dont like rain-x? Ive never had a problem with it on my jeep. I was having some troubles trying to keep the windshield wipers from hopping on my moms car though. I bought some rain-x wiper blades and I think its doing better. I never drive it anymore since I moved away but she said they were doing good.. Ive tried the wax too and they still did it.. Not to sure if it has something to do with the type of springs in the arms or what?

Is there such a thing has a "safe" (non-wax stripping) washer fluid?

Also Rain-x is the reason I wish Castrol still made their product Accu-view, which was like Rain-X just spray on wipe off, works wonders.

If I had to guess, I would guess all washer fluids will remove wax to some degree, even the blue stuff.
