  • Fence/Deck Sealant Overspray on Car - HELP!

My neighbor just came over in a panic. She left her car in their driveway and her neighbor had someone (individual, not company) spray deck and cedar fence sealant. Needless to say, the car owner is mad...I just finished a complete polish and wax 2 weeks ago. It's a black 04 Mustang GT Convertible and the overspray is on ALL surfaces!

I did a test spot of Meguiars Clay + Detail Spray and it removes the chemical just fine.

    Questions:
    1. Is there a quicker way to remove this overspray besides clay?

    2. What about the convertible top? That's an area I'm not familiar with for removal of deck spray.

Is stain water or oil base ? Try body shop solvent ie: prep sol, remembering to polish&wax when all cleaned off. Good Luck!

Thanks Stealth: I'm going to contact the contractor tomorrow and will find out. The pre-sol will work for the paint.

But what about the convertible top? That's the one area I know zero about.

The type of material used to construct the top ie: cloth, vinyl, canvas will help determine the appropriate remover. I've gone to marine supply stores for the correct solvent to use on some tops, also they have a variety of sealants to restore the appearance & main the waterproofing. Good Luck!
