  • So I don't have too much time, but I need to take care of some swirls...

...on my black Scion tC. So far I've just been washing with Gold Class wash and using Quik Detailer ocasionally to remove bird dropping and water spots. Today I would like to remove the cobwebs that were in my cars paint since day 1 (a month or so ago). Can I wash, clay, then use Deep Crystal paint cleaner, and then just wash again?

Or should I wash, clay, dc1, dc2, dc3 some other time? I really want to get these swirls out today, but I think i can only go up to dc1 and then wash again (is that alright?) MAYBE I could even do dc2 today... but should I even wash the car again if I do dc1 or 2?

Not using dc3 after 1 or 2 and not using dc2 or 3 after 1 wont cause any problems right?

Thanks for reading this and thanks for your replies
As you can probably tell, this will be my first time doing anything more than washing a car, hehe

    Wow, thats alittle confusing.

You want to use DC3 as your last step to protect the paint. DC2 will not protect anything.

Also, the DC 3 step will not remove any swirls. #80 would be good to try for those.

Edit: You shouldnt need to wash between steps unless you wait some time between the steps. If your a man you can do all three steps in one day. lol

      Sorry for the confusion!

Ill try to ask it a little simpler -

Can I wash, clay, dc1, and just leave it like that?
Will washing, claying, dc1'ing and washing after that be better?

      I don't think I have time to use dc2 or dc3 today...

I wouldnt leave it at DC1. Its a cleaner and doesnt protect the paint at all, it will actually remove any wax that was on there. Unless you plan on using a wax within the next week, I would leave it at that.

If you really do not have the time, you could clay then just use DC3 on it...

Actually, DC1 has a wax in it, so you can use it as your LSP. For better protection, I would suggest some DC3 or NXT Tech Wax for your LSP on top of your DC1. I have used DC1 by itself in the past and works very nice. It's doesn't last as long like NXT Wax, but some protection is better than none. After DC1, you can put DC2(pure polish) to give your paint a deep, wet look and then go over with DC3 and/or NXT Wax.

Well, I think I am just going to use DC1 and then rewash. I will probably wax later this weekend or even next week.

After you do DC1, there won't be a need to rewash after you wipe it off. I would only wash it off only if there is some debris on the paint and you want to add some more wax.
