For compounds, paint cleaners, and cleaner/polishes it's fine to pre-moisten your foam pads before applying product.

For pure polishes, there shouldn't be a need to do this because the products are quite slippery by themselves.

For waxes, sealants, (paint protectants), you shouldn't introduce water before, during or after application.

I always give the pad a spray except when I am polishing just like mike said.

I have found that after you give the paint a real good cleaning and you start to polish with the PC it gets a little slippery almost to the point where the pad wants to take off on you.
Products are only a good as the detailer using them.

            Hey,

I would not use a QD to prime the pads before applying a wax/sealant. I use it during the cleaning/polishing stages but not at the finishing/sealing stage.

When applying NXT, I like to prime the pad with a healthly size "X" of NXT. From then on, I use a single ring of product around the pad.

I use FI when applying DACP or Diamond Cut. Spray it lightly or it will sling off the pad and make a mess. Like the previous post, when waxing with 26, 20 or NXT, I apply a healthy "X" on the pad and go from there. After that, a small dab is all the pad needs.
Does anybody loves FI as much as me?
