  • #20 or ColorX

    Hi,

Which is recommended, #20 or ColorX?
    I can't get hold of #21 & other #8x though.

    They are very different products.

#20 is a wax with a bit of cleaning ability.

ColorX is a cleaner/wax, with the ability to remove mild defects and oxidation, and leave a nice finish behind.

        Hey,

Though both are great products for their intended purpose, I would definitely give my nod to the #20. I have used #20 for over 20 years and have never had an issue with it...ever. Great product!

Thanks, I really like the shiny & "wet" look on a black car...which last longer, assuming it'll be topped with NXT Tech wax?

You are looking at it the wrong way.

To get a good look, 90-95% of it is in the prep. As Tim said, you have to use the product the way it is meant for best results.

If you only want to use 2 products(+ Clay hopefully), then ColorX will prepare the paint better, and then topped with Nxt will give you the best combination of looks and durability.

              Thanks, perhaps I'll try the 1, 2 & 3 Deep Crystal products.

An option you may consider is Clay bar and ColorX alone. As you sharpen your skills and increase your expectations you can walk into the 3-step arena. However, clay bar and 3-step and NXT as your 3rd step will most definitely give you great results on black paint.
