A box of baking soda under the seats works great too. They have a box now that has a screen on it to allow air flow through the box and not spill. It also helps elimante moisture.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

Ozium (original scent) works pretty well for me sprayed into the air vents.

You could also try Car Odor Eliminator, which should remove most smells, and leave a neutral smell behind.

Currently my car smells kind of musty, as I forgot a bag of garden waste in the trunk for a few days But what's even worse than the smell, is the many spiders that apparently were in the bag... Meg's has great polishes for removing spider-webbing in the paint, but do they have anything for removing spiders in the interior...

                  Re: New Car Smell?

The best I've found is a complete cleaning of all surfaces vinyl, leather, fabric, headliner, visors, as well as carpet, if it is bad pull the seats as well. Next mist all fabrics with Megs odor eliminator. Now it will be free of most smells or repeat again.

I have used the Griots leather scented air freshener, it works well. to get the best effect after spraying I place some on a sponge in a plastic container (3M electrical tape case works well) chuck it under a seat and re spray interior and sponge as needed. I have been able to get some nasty smells to disappear this way.
