  • DC#2, pure polish ????

    Hi everybody,

If I was to use color X as a cleaner could I then DC#2 polish next? Will the DC#2 polish work on top of the polymer wax left behind from the Color X? Or does it need to be a wax free surface for the polish to work ? After the polish I plan to top it with a couple of thin coats of NXT.

    Thanks

Mike has said in the past that it will work ok.

That said, it seems to somewhat defeat the purpose of using a cleaner/wax to cut out steps and speed things up. And ScratchX is the better swirl remover.

You can never seal a surface 100%, so yes you can polish after waxing including if you're using a cleaner/wax as your paint cleaner.

Remember that just the act of rubbing some type of applicator material over the paint with some type of product, liquid or cream, combined with pressure, (even light pressure), over time has a cleaning-effect.

So using a cleaner/wax as a paint cleaner and then applying a polish over it, the application of the polish will tend to remove some of the protection ingredients left by the cleaner/wax because in simple terms... you're touch it, in fact you're rubbing over the waxed paint with a pad another product, if you look at this in an extreme point of view, does this action add more protection or take away some protection.
