i recently bought my 94 honda civic, and everything is in great condition except for the paint. The paint on the hood and the roof of the car are oxidated or faded. i tried applying meguiars scratch x to the roof of the car but the surface is too rough and the liquid just stays on without coming off. right here in the pictures you can see a part of the roof where one part is white, thats where i applied the meguiars scratch x on it, it was difficult for me to take it off. NOTHING HAPPENED, I DID NOT SEE A DIFFERENCE, can sumone please help me out??? CAN THIS PROBLEM BE FIXED OR AM I GOING TO HAVE TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF BUCKS ON A NEW PAINT JOB? PLEASE HELP SUMONE

Re: oxidated paint help, can sumone help me?
yes that generation of civic seems to have a bad clear coat.
heres a pic of one i worked on, it is not as bad as yours but is getting there. The only "cheap" way you can fix it is by sanding and painting the car youself with some duplicolor paints.
the pic is pretty bad because i am terrable at taking pictures
heres the whole thread if your interested

wow, great job on the repaint of the car. so if i want mine looking like that i'm going to have to get a new paint job? THAT ***** i really dont have money for a new paint job. Either way it looks im going to have to get it. I was hoping they sold products to get the oxidation off the paint of the car.

As stated above that looks to need re painting. There are many Megs products capable of removing oxidation from CC or paint, the point is there needs to be adequate film below that which is removed or you cannot repair the finish. A DIY fix can come out OK just take your time and look around here for tips on keeping up the repair.

Here's the code minus the http so it won't automatically create a link,

We copied and pasted the URL address for some of the missing photos into our browser and it took us to a Missing Page link at PhotoBucket.
If you look to the left side of the screen shot you'll see the red x's we're seeing on two different computers side by side using IE
Firefox doesn't show the missing pictures or the red x's but the code is there and the pictures are missing.
This is the reason for the article on PhotoBucket in the Hot Topics forum. The pictures get deleted by the owner of the account to make room for new pictures and forums around the world get red x's.
