Makita is quality brand name and it's easy to believe any wool pad that they've contracted to be used with their polisher has met their quality expectations.
Because wool pads are primarily for removing defects and any professional and quality-minded person is going to follow this step with foam pads to remove the swirls the wool fibers instill, it should be too big of a concern as to the quality of the wool pad included with the Makita buffer because your own foreknowledge tells you no matter whose wool pad you use it's going to instill swirls.
Use it up, or give it to someone that will.
If you're not working in a body shop environment removing sanding marks out of fresh paint, then pitch it or use it as a door stop or even a Frisbee.

I am basically planning on using it as a first step after I wetsand some deeper isolated scratches. I am definitely going to follow it up with some M83/W-8006/RB.

Mike,
Do you recommend I use the W-7006 foam cutting pad with M84 instead of the wool pad to buff out the wetsanding scratches? I don't want to get more aggressive than 2500 grit since this is a factory clear coat finish I am working with.
