  • Detailing tires...

    Morning guys!

Seems like I'm just full of questions!

Whats the correct proccess for using Endurance High Gloss on your tires?
I have a white truck, and that stuff just seem to fling everywhere after I apply it. I have to wipe my truck down for 2-3 days after I use it to take all the little black specs off.

Any tips or tricks? Am I using the wrong product? I really like the high gloss and how long it lasts.

    Good morning,

I too used to have the same problem with not only Endurance, but with all wipe on tire dressings, especially with All Season Dressing flinging all over my black car. I read an article on here somewhere about applying a nice thick coat, and letting it stay on the tires around 10-15 minutes, then going back with an old towel and wiping off the excess, this seems to work just fine, just make sure when your wiping off the excess that you get up where the little openings in the tire tread starts as that's where it collected on mine.

    Hope this helps,

    Tom

Ive never had trouble with endurance coming off. I usually put it on before night and let it sit overnight. Maybe the sun is hitting your tires and warming the stuff up?

Also, I couldnt get the brush thing in that thread to work out. Maybe I was doing something wrong?

I apply thin coats of Endurance Gel on my tires and it still looks great with absolutely no sling. As a matter of fact it has survived 100+ mph with no sling and I'm not exaggerating. And I usually drive my car after washing so it only gets about a half an hour to sit at the most. It takes more time to apply compared to spray coatings but its well worth the results.

Of all Meg's products I've tried, the Endurance gel has definately been my least favorite. I used about 10% of the bottle and won't ever touch it again. And yes, I wiped off all the excess due to fear of product slinging........and it still occured.

I'm much happier with the results of Meg's Hot Shine spray, but that's just me. My tires are loaded with grooves for any product to hide in, but I can remove excess Hot Shine much easier than Engurance gel. (With use of each product, the car sat 24 hrs or more before being driven).

Well, I applied the endurance gel with the paint brush(like someone suggested), let it sit for about 24 hours(probably more like 30 hours), then took a towel and wiped the tires off real good. Still got it all over my nice clean white paint! Think I'm gonna give up on this stuff I love the shine it gives me, but I don't want to HAVE to clean my truck everyday to get it.

                  Hey N737nc,
I do not have the sling issue if I use an aerosol, such as NXT insane shine or Hot Shine. I am pretty sure it's coming from where the tired tread starts on the side walls. I have the very same problem on just my car, but don't have it on our other vehicles when I use it. Just the differences in tire design I think.

Sorry that didn't help your problem, but give a aerosol a try and let it sit for a bit. I don't have any sling issues and I don't have to go back and wipe either.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot and see what happens!

Just FYI, my tires have thousands of little ribs in the sidewall. Wierd designed Goodyear tires. Guess that could be the problem, too much gel getting trapped in those little ribs and no way to get the excess out. The ribs are VERY small......maybe 1/16 each(or less).

I think leaving it on 24 hours is a bit too much. I have the Goodyear F1 Eagles and it has the tiny ribs like n737nc is describing. I apply the Endurance and then wipe off the excess right away. I wipe in the same direction as the grooves run. Never have had a problem with sling at all. Just my 2 cents worth anyway!
