  • Detailing van with lettering

My ladyfriend's van has advertising for her wallpapering business. Does that present problems when using M83, M80, NXT Tech Wax?

Meguiar's doesn't make a product specifically made for, or safe for decals, graphics, lettering, stripes, etc.

Also remember, some materials don't lend themselves well to being abraded or machine cleaned. At the same time, this is a problem for anyone with graphic on their car.

Best thing to do is to try to work around them, you want to avoid having the edges or tips lift as once they lift they tend to get worse with time.

We know it's a problem to work on these kinds of things, that's one of the reasons the Meguiar's logos are under the clear coat on our big rigs...

      Awesome trucks!

My 00 Prelude has some factory stickers on the back which are mostly transparent with some lettering. When I work on those sections I tape over them with painters tape, but before I do that I stick the tape to my pants or shirt a few times to make it less sticky. This makes them easier to remove without the potential for lifting the corners, etc.. I can then work with the cleaners (#80, #83, ScratchX, etc.) without worrying about the decals. Before I wax I remove the tape only on the decals and wax over them so they are protected. I also clayed them, but not much came off since they were on the back of the car.
