  • Few questions..

    First,

My GFs saturn was in a little fender bender back in may. It has now been 90 days and I am ready to finally give it a detail.

I know its safe to wax and what not, and dont laugh at this question, but is it OK to do a full detail now? (clay,polish,wax,etc.). From what I understand, after 90days, I can do anything I normally could do with the car. Right?

Finally, I keep great care of my car, washed very often, polish+waxed often, etc etc. (you know, the normal 5step). I recently did #7 and GC and liked it. That was about 1month ago. If i go out and purchase #26 and simply "wash, dry, and wax" will that be OK? I mean I DID just polish it not that long ago, and the car is rarely driven and garage parked. I just honestly dont feel like doing the wash, dry, polish, wax thing. I want to keep it as simple as possible. (I have worked over 60hrs last week and still working a lot this week, I am pooped!)

    Thanks in advance!

After you have waited 60-90 days for the paint to fully cure (on an after market paint job) it is safe to use a clay bar system(although you shouldn't need it), paint cleaners, polishes, and waxes. So, you are good to do whatever that surface needs.

    Regarding the #7 and #26:
If you applied the #7 Show Car Glaze about a month ago, I would recommend going back over the car with the # 7 again now, and then seal it in with the #26 to get the best results. I'm not attempting to creat extra work for you, but if you don't seal a polish in within several days the shine will begin to wear off because it doesn't have any protection to it. Of course, the polish step is an optional step, so evaluate the surface/shine (as well as how much work you want to put in to it), and then go from there.

Hope that information is helpful. If you have any other questions let us know and we'll do everything we can to assist.

Thanks Rick for the great response

Do you happen to know if #26 has any polish to it? or has it been known to add any shine?

Based on my own personal experience, the #26 does provide a bit of a shine, although technically it is my understanding that it doesn't contain polish...
