  • How often do you buff?

If I or someone else buffs the scratches and swirls out of my finish, and I hand wash and wax correctly, how long before I will need another buffing?

That really depends on a lot of different variables - how soft is your paint, how much exposure does the car get to the elements, what are those elements (rain, mud, snow, salt, etc), how good is your wash technique, how picky are you about the overall finish?

You might need to buff out a small section in a month, you might need to buff the whole car in three to six months, maybe a year if you don't drive it a lot, you wash it very carefully, and you're willing to put up with a few swirls from time to time.
