  • Cleaner/Wax vs #80 vs #83 vs #82 vs #9

    I believe the newer 80 series cleaners from most to least agressive are #83 > #80 > #82 > #9 > ColorX > DC1 (no abrasives).

I also have an older bottle of "Cleaner/Wax" (#12?) and even a "Body Scrub". Where do these two fit in the above abrasiveness sequence ? I assume the BodyScrub fits somewhere in the extreme #4 > #1 > #2 sequence of cut-cleaners but am unsure where the "Cleaner/Wax" fits.

Is there anywhere where *ALL* the abrasive cleaners are listed in sequence? Maybe ideally with some sort of relative 10-1 rating ?

DC#1 has some abrasives, but very mild, nothing to get excited about. The regular Cleaner/Wax is also in that range.

This might be related to your other thread...

A12 is just a part number. I think all the Consumer line products have part numbers like A.... But for most of those we just use an abbreviation.

The Professional Line products we generaly use part numbers for. #80, #83, #9. Just part numbers, they dont mean anything.

The Detailer Line is also just abbreviations usualy. ASD, HD, etc.

It doesn't have everything you're looking for, but this link might be helpful...

For those of you hearing all the slang and Meguiar's numbers floating around, I hope this will help. I wanted to post this in the Professional Line forum or the pro detailer's forum, but HTML is OFF in both of them. <Table border=1 width=100%><COL ALIGN=CENTER> <COL ALIGN=CENTER> <COL ALIGN=CENTER>

Can anyone tell me more about the new formula of the A line Cleaner Wax?

                        Red bottle says improved.

I would say that cleanerwax is less aggresive then even DC1, or about equal. With enough elbow grease, you can get it to cut through oxidation on older single stage paints.

"New and improved".... Meguiars reforumlated the product to provide longer waterbeading, since most consumer (uneducated) draw a direct comparision between water beading and protection.
