  • Guage cluster plastic

What do you guys use so it doesent scratch. The vehicle I found to be really bad was my 98 civic. The radio too. I usually use glass cleaner and a soft towel. How about you guys

If there are scratches or hazing on the plastic, then I use PlastX cleaner / polish and work it with a foam applicator, then I wipe off with a MF. If the plastic is made from Lexan, then all bets are off, but plexiglass and other plastics clean and polish up real nice with PlastX.

plastix is amazing stuff. I've seen customers reach and touch, to see if the plastic on the cluster is gone.

I like PlastX for messed up stuff, but at the same time, if it is fine, I dont even touch it.

I was just worried about the glass cleaner scratching. At the same time the plastic is dirty and has to be cleaned. It is usually not scratched, just filthy.

For just cleaning, I think QID is good. It will be more lubricating than the glass cleaner.

It worked ok on mine. I just used it yesterday evening, and havent seen a streak this morning.

I just kind of misted it lightly on a good MF towel, and wiped gently. Didnt soak it or anything.

Hey Murr125, just got some at Kmart. $5.99 along with some scratch x. I just did the front of my cell phone(LOL). Cleaned up nicely. Then I realized there is a topic forum for plastcs. Soory.

For light cleaning of clear plastics Meguiar's offers a dedicated mist and wipe quick detailer, the part number is M1808 Clear Plastic Detailer.

Thanks Mike. Is it safe for lcd's and things of that nature. I think those small things make the detail on the inside.
