  • Complete Cycle (3 step)

    Hi,

I would like to know, when does one know
when to clean, polish and wax once car if i have done it already once....

Reason am asking did my M3 not even two months and the car doesnt feel that smooth anymore.

Could it be the shampoo am using, not using meguires.
Is it possible that the shampoo am using is having a effect on the body?

    How is the car used?

Where is the car parked during each day?

Is the shampoo a detergent wash?

      [B]How is the car used?
The car stand most of the time, its a weekend car, some times only gets driven once a month.

Where is the car parked during each day?
underneath a car port, hardly gets any sun, but is open so it gets dust.

Is the shampoo a detergent wash?

Anytime your car is exposed to the outdoors it's going to deteriorate faster than it would if it were enclosed, that said a carport is better than nothing by a long shot.

Nothing lasts forever so don't expect to wax once or even twice a year and have your car always looking and feeling like you just waxed it. The only way to make a car look like it was just waxed is to just wax it.

Try re-waxing again after washing and then switch to a known non-detergent, conditioning car wash like our Gold Class Car Wash & Shampoo. Wash using a quality car wash mitt and don't over use or under use the car wash, measure and dilute the car wash according to directions which in one ounce to one gallon, which is 2-3 capfuls to one gallon.

        Then see what you get...

        Hope this helps...

Can i wash the car use the wax cleaner then just rewax? is this the right way?

Or when rewaxing just add wax again....an leave the wax cleaner...

A lot of people like to use a cleaner/wax first as both their paint cleaner to prep the paint but to also polish and wax it at the same time, and then follow this with either a polish/wax or a pure wax, something without the cleaners to leave more protection behind.

A popular combination for this is ColorX as your cleaner/wax followed by your choice of secondary wax. Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax is also a good choice and actually leaves a very dark, clear finish on black and dark colored paints. Both work well, the ColorX is the stronger cleaner/wax of the two but completely safe for clear coat paints, (it's smooth and creamy, not abrasive).

Just be careful not to get a cleaner/wax on plastic or rubber trim because it tends to dry white, if you do get any on trim wipe it off as fast as you can before it dries. Some people like to tape trim off to help prevent staining. Another approach is to take your time, don't get in a hurry and focus on the task at hand.

I find that if the air temperature is hot or the surface is very clean the tape can sometimes come up a bit after being bumped by multiple passes with my G-100. If this happens just use a little #39 followed by #40 for protection. I have had excellent results with this combo, even on old stains! The #39 cleans like magic.
