  • NXT on top of Cleaner wax? is this ok?

Guys my schedule is so busy I don't have to time to properly detail my car.
I waxed it about 4 months ago with cleaner wax and its completely gone now.
I don't have the time to wax as often or the time to spend doing it, my car sits outside and now that I live at the beach its much worst on it.

I am trying to get a good long lasting protectant on it, I have cleaner wax and NXT.
Would it be ok to wash it very well, apply 1 coat of cleaner wax and then on top of that 1 coat of NXT?

I'm pressed for time and I would not be able to do 2 coats of nxt(spaced 1 day apart so it seals).

I'm hoping to use the cleaner wax mainly for cleaning and a little wax protectant, then the nxt as the sealer?

I do have some some deep crystal cleaner, if it would be better I could use the cleaner then 1 coat of NXT?

Which do you all think would be the best option?
    Thanks!

Either option (cleaner wax or deep crystal cleaner) would be fine. My suggestion, since it's been 4 months, is that you use the deep crystal followed by NXT this time around, then every month or so do the cleaner wax/NXT combo. Alternate once a quarter with the deep crystal cleaner/NXT combo.

Although it's been recommended to wait a day for the polymers to work between coats, there's nothing wrong with applying two coats immediately. This ensures even coverage and I'd rather have two coats applied this way than one coat.

Personaly, I would pick ColorX and Nxt/#21.

Keep in mind that 24 hours is for best looks.. if you can wait at least 20 minutes you will get darn good protection and 95% of the looks.

One of my favorite "trade secrets" is #66 topped with either #21 or NXT. I apply the #66 like a polish (like #80), and then top it with #21 or NXT. Works GREAT. You get the cleaning power of #66 with two coats of wax.
Sure, it's not going to look as good as the five-step system, but a lot of my customers don't want to pay for that much service - and for 90% of my customers, it makes their paint look better than they have ever seen it!

So...yes, top the cleaner wax with NXT if that's all you have. It will look good.

This is a pretty sure-fire system that will handle most of the cars a detailer is asked to detail while making about 99% of their customers ecstatic.

Well heres what I ended up doing and I am pleased with the results but my car needs a good detail.

I ended up scrubbing the car up with soap and water really good, then took it through the auto wash at the dealership I work at.

I then rinsed it with a hose really well, and dried.
Went over the entire vehicle with deep crystal cleaner, then used NXT paste tech wax, waited 30 min. Removed, waited 30 minutes, applied second coat, waited 45 min, then removed.

The paint was heavily oxidized, had to use the paint cleaner over and over on a few spots to remove some contaminants/oxidization.

All in all it came out well, should last a while till I can get some free time.
I'll try to snap some pics tomorrow!
              Thanks guys!

You could also use a spray wax (booster wax) between full detailings to help keep the protection around a little longer.
