GREAT--I have Goo Gone, ScratchX and DC Paint Cleaner!! If I try the Goo Gone first----it's ok to use the regular Goo Gone, it doesn't HAVE to be the "Automotive Goo Gone", right?

Sorry about bumping the thread, but I'm attempting this this morning. If someone could verify that I don't have to use the *automotive goo gone* and the regular stuff is ok on the car paint......

I am in the same boat as you. I tried to remove the dealers decal with fingernails and then Goo Gone (not the automotive one) and was left with a huge sticky mess. The Goo Gone did not work that well. I may try some Scratch X now?

I used a plastic razor blade I purchased from ADS and some DC#1 to remove any residue. Came off w/o a problem and the DC#1 cleaned it up very nicely.

If you don't have plastic razor blades, you can use a wooden popsicle stick. The round edges should work fine w/o damaging any paint since the wood is kind of soft anyway.

I have used this on my paint with no drawbacks. Great stuff and I use it all over the house now when I have stickers that I need to get off.
I have the 3M Adhesive Remover in a tin that is a liquid. I have a tin at home that works great and I used it when I detailed bikes at the Harley Dealership. One thing with the liquid is put is on a paper towel (or cloth if you don't feel comfortable with it) and rub it down a little bit. Then peel off the decal and rewipe the area with more adhesive remover to remove any reside, and then dry with a seperate dry towel. Then top with wax and enjoy!!!!
