  • Polishing Step Using the G100

I attended the Corvettes of Riverside Detail Day a couple of Saturdays ago. I don't remember using the Deep Crystal polish when we started using the G100. What I was wondering is should the three steps below indicating the DA polisher settings also include a polish step?

    5 - apply cleaner (such as #80)
    3 - apply wax
    5 - remove wax

I'm working on a 64 1/2 Mustang that was reciently painted with a clear coat but has swirl marks.

    Hi Jerry,

I remember you and your car and exactly what we discussed in the class, here's a recap...

    1. Wash Car or Wipe Down with Quik Detailer - Make sure car is clean
    2. Clay finish - We already did this on your car
    3. Machine Clean using M80 Speed Glaze/W-8006/5.0 Speed Setting
    4. Apply Wax using W-9006 on the 3.0 setting
    5. Remove Wax by hand or with a bonnet on a dry pad on the 5.0 Speed Setting

The M80 Speed Glaze is rich enough in polishing oils that you don't need to apply a pure polish after using this product, you can go straight to wax.

      Dang that's a pretty Mustang!

I had Maverick painted that color in high school. Unfortunately, I had it done at *aico..... The paint came off in sheets the first time I washed it. The orange paint was still shiny underneath, no sanding, no primer...

And I paid for their "high end" paint job that was supposedly "hand sanded".....

      Oh well... live and learn......

Hey thanks Mike.....just what I needed to know. I did order the polish however but who knows I may need it on my '02 PT Cruiser or the '98 Toyota Sienna Van.

Thanks again for the info. and the great class!
