  • Need your recommendation. APC or Safe D'greaser?

Hi there fellow meguiarians. I'm a full time student with limited budget and am looking for a cheaper solution to cleaning tires and wheel wells.

I've been browsing through some threads, and have seen Mike Phillips using APC on wheels. But have also read somewhere that Safe D'greaser is a little bit stronger, in terms of 'eating' up the dirt.

I'm looking for something similiar to Eagle One's all wheel and tire cleaner. It comes in an orange bottle and when sprayed on a dirty tire, it will turn brown due to the baked on brake dust.

My question is, will APC/Safe D'greaser turn to a brownish residue? I plan to use this weekly with every wash.

Even with meg's tire brush, double the strength of NXT wash still isn't strong enough to remove old tire wax, let alone clean them.

My main priority is cleaning tires, wheels, and wheel wells.
However I am turning abit to the APC side because of it's famed versatility. Pre-treating foam pads, cleaning interior and such. I'm in a dilemma on which to get.

Would gladly like to know your personal recommendation and opinion on which works best for what.

    many thanks in advance

    APC

It is just that...an All Purpose Cleaner It is a much more versatile product.

Just keep in mind, always dilute the product properly depending on the situation.

An interesting side note, I was talking to Rick from ADS, and he said that APC + has some mild degreasing agents in it as well which make it better than APC for engines, wheelwells, etc. And it is still good for interiors, etc.

APC+ is an incredible product. Lifting carpet stains by hand/carpet brush is virtually effortless. They come up so fast, even at 10:1 dilution.

            Hi there 35th Anniversary SS,
            I think I'm wrong but, isn't APC+ discontinued?

hmmm after some consideration, I'm going for safe d'greaser as my interiors usually doesn't need heavy cleaning and I'll use it more often on tires and wheel wells.

Thanks for the recommendation anyway guys!

I believe there was an older APC+ that was discontinued. And this in the Detailer Line is the new one.

ohh, that clears it up, cause there were some threads that wrote about APC being the replacement for APC+.

So now there is an old APC+ and new APC+, ok got it.

                  Thanks!
