  • Wax On Mini Trim

    Hey All,

how do you get wax off the exterior trim. i mean i have #39 but that just seems to cover it. once it fades away a bit, you can still see it.

what do i have to do to totally get rid of it. and stupid me i didn't tape it and i hit one spot.

    thanks

Have you tried Meguiars Exterior Trim Detailer?

#39 on a terry cloth towel with a little passion behind it should do the trick. Are you just doing a quick wipe on, wipe off? It's always worked great for me.

sorry guys i was using number 40.

        is that the reason why.

i do put a little passion behind it. but it just seems to cover it up and i can't really tell if its gone until it fades away.

is there a better solution so that i can tell once i apply it.

i'm in the hunt for #39.

i reckon the USA is calling me for some MEGS stuff.

#40 is a dressing, maybe with some light cleaners, but nothing drastic. So it will tend to hide whatever it is over.

#39 is a cleaner only, so when worked in with a little passion, maybe by a terry or toothbrush, you should be ok.

I used #39 on my black MINI trim and it worked great for removing the NXT wax. I used a microfiber cloth. There were a few spots I couldn't get the wax of with the micro fiber, so I used a toothbrush on them and the wax came off without any effort. The difference between the brush and the microfiber was just enough "extra" to do the job.

There's your answer TrufflePig.....pick up some #39 and you should be good to go. Follow that up with #40 and your trim will look beautiful once again.

If #39 and #40 fail, go grab a jar of peanut butter from your pantry and use that on a terry cloth towel. It works every time - I am serious!
