    I have:

    NXT Paste Wax
    Show Car Glaze
HiTech Yellow Wax (liquid only, i think)
Step 2 Polish (which i know doesn't do a ton)

ShowCar Glaze is a polish right? What would you use on my car and in what order? I'm gonna take off the nxt on my car now, clay, polish, then wax, right? Is the SC Glaze worth it? I'm goin back to school next week and want a slick lookin ride when i go back.

    Thanks gentlemen.

First off, where in Texas are ya?

Well, what car wash do you have?

Wash first - Nxt and Gold Class are both good car washes

Then, if you are going to clay, go ahead and clay it.

Are you cleaning the paint? IF not, and you want to make do with what you have, skip this and go to polishing (DC #2).

Now, apply your waxes, let dry, and take off.

    Should look good.

NOte: Cleaning paint is a very important step, so I don't know what you are going for so i just gave u a quick rundown.

I agree, I think cleaning is a very important step.

There are different ways to go about it, either with a cleaner/wax or a product like Deep Crystal #1 or ScratchX.

But tell us a little more, there is definately something for you to use.

you asked for more, so here goes:

This is what i did to my car about 6 months ago.

        -Washed with dawn
        -clayed
        -polished with DC #2
        -washed
        -coat of nxt paste
-waited a day, then another coat of nxt

I'm pleased with the results... at night my hood makes me wanna blush, it's so shiny. I've read that DC #2 is non-abrasive, so that's why i was leaning towards buying ShowCar Glaze. Is this stuff all it is cracked up to be?

Is HiTech Yellow a huge difference from nxt? I have more than enough nxt to do my car again, but if the yellow is a big step up, then i've got no problems doing that. The HTY that i saw at pepboys last week was the liquid form. I prefer paste, just because that's what i've always used. Could i use HTY and nxt somehow?

I'm leavin DFW to head back to Aggieland next weekend. I'm gonna ask for an afternoon off of work to spend 5-6 hours with my maxima so she'll be in top shape for the nasty rains we get down in college station. All applications and removals will be done by hand, for the record.

Thanks again guys! these forums are the best.

          A few things to note:

No more Dawn please..... Use Gold Class or Nxt wash for future washes. Dawn wil lremove your wax/polishes, and dry things out if used often forever.

And you dont need to wash after polishing.

DC#2 and #7 are both pure polishes. Neither will offer any cleaning ability, but as far as pure polishes go, yes, it is good.

I dont know if there is a #26 paste at all. But yes, you could apply Nxt, then top it with #26. As far as durability though, I think Nxt or #21 would last a little longer.

Do you see any swirls, etc?

Your process can look like this if you want to re-do it all.

          1. Wash - Gold Class or Nxt Wash
          2. Clay if needed
          3. Clean - ScratcHX on any swirls/scratches, DC#1 for everything else.
          4. Polish - DC#2 or #7
          5. Wax - 2 coats of wax. Nxt, #26, #21.. whatever you like.

ftr, i don't use dawn everytime i wash. As you said, i just use it to help remove all the old wax i'm tryin to get off. My everyday washed consist of a mf sponge, a water hose, and my right arm. Then i dry with the absorber.

The clay bar and paint cleaner will remove any old wax, no need to worry about dishsoaps at all.

And apparently there is a paste...
