  • pc vibration

I just put on a coat of dc#2 with pc and foam pad. I wiped it off by hand, put a microfiber bonnet on a clean foam pad with setting #5. Buffed the truck and thought I would try setting #6. There was a great deal vibration. Is this normal ?

I have the same issue when using the PC at 6. I find that using Mechanics Gloves cut down on the vibration.

Do you have the 5 ounce counter weight or the 6 ounce counter weight?

I have only used the PC with the 5 ounce counter weight and on the 6.0 setting, it vibrates pretty violently.

I have read that the 6 ounce counter weight reduces this considerably. That said, I think most people will the 6.0 setting to be pretty high for most procedures, plus it increases the wear and tear on the velcro material on the foam.

Also, depending on what chemical you're using, you increase the chance for marring the finish.

I would experiment with both and see what you think.

Everyone that has commented on this topic has always said that the 6 ounce weight is better. I haven't recieved my yet so I don't know.

The jump in vibrations goind from 5.5 to 6 on the PC is quite noticable, much more so then between any other steps.

It is bearable but if you are using two hands use your fron thand on the center of the machine and not the handle, This seems to cut down the vibrations a lot too.

                  Hey,

I try to avoid going any higher than speed 5.5 on the PC.
