Hello Everyone,
I was wondering about overspray. I just had some body work done to my car do to an insurance claim and I got my car back yesterday and there is overspray all over the pass side of my car.
The repair work included my rear pass quarter panel and my roof. The paint work they did looks great. But there is overspray all over my front pass side fender. All over the pass side door and some on the rear bumper.
I took it back to the body shop this morning for them to fix it. To remove the overspray and also b/c the window they replaced is leaking that was smashed out.
The body shop manager said it just needed washed. So I washed it all down last night with my lamb skin wash mit and meguiars soap and shammy dried it. Also touched up some residue water with some baby diaper clothes.
Anyway that is how I found all the over spray. It looks like sh*t.
So my question is. "How can I get rid of this overspray?" I do have a clay bar kit but I was hoping that I wouldnt have to use that on the whole side of my car. I usually use the clay bar for removing bug guts and stuff off my front bumper/hood.
If they dont clean up the mess they made. What would be the steps involved to get this out of my paint.
My usual ritual of waxing includes:
1.)wash & dry car
2.) Wax whole car with swirl remover to clean up paint
3.) #26 I think it is high tech yellow wax. Usually ends up pretty perfect for a job done by hand.
I am a meguiars fan, I use all meguiars products on my car. I think that I might need some advice on maybe bummping it up a knotch to more of a professional level of products which people seem to use on this page. To remove some deeper swirl marks and scratch's.
I need some help here guys on what I could use to bring the paint back from the dead. Well not to dead yet but to make the paint really shine.

Well I just got my car back from the body shop this morning. They fixed and water tested the window which makes me happy. It seems as though they cleaned up most of the paint overspray with what every they used. Maybe some thinners and polish i'm not to sure. But it rained out after they did it and it's hard to tell at this point in time.
It looks good but I think I want to detail the pass side of my car to be sure it looks as good as it can you know. I need some help here.
Regards,
J
