Same thing happened to me when I was using GC mixed with water and the Meguiars claybar started falling apart pretty bad. But when I use QD it works fine... I was using the smooth clay kit.
I always clay while washing my cars, so I use a combination of the car wash soap, which is always Meguiars NXT, and some Last Touch spray and I have never had an issue with several types of the Meguiar's clay.
I always use just water for lube.. it works great. I just have the hose running over the panel while i clay... sure, it wastes a lot of water, but it does the job nicely.

Ya know that is a really good idea...why didn't I think of that.

Anybody else do this ??...seems logical....my clay bar was stored in a zip lock back with QD squirted on it....was like peanut butter when I went to use it yesterday...i think maybe it was too much QD....and it was the older clay

That is how I always store mine. I just put 1 spray of Last Touch into the zip lock, toss the clay in, and put it into an air tight container. I have never had any issues with any of the clays.

Ding!
But it's nice to know that people here help, regardless of the brand involved.
As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

We had some issues with the clay in our original C2000 clay packaging, thus the reason in my first post I asked the thread starter to state which line the clay was in and also to describe the appearance of the clay and the packaging it came in.
Call Customer Care and cite this thread and describe to them the clay in your post and pictures and tell them that you would like to try a sample of our Mild Clay in the Professional line.

Here is the packaging. Two clay bars come in a little plastic tub. I opened one package about 10 months ago and used it, with dilute carwash solution, with no problems.
Then to finish the job I had to open the other package.
The reason I asked you which line and what the packaging looked like when you said the clay bar fell apart was to make sure we didn't have a problem with any of our current clay bars.
Now to find out the problem was with Zaino's clay bars is an opportunity to provide good customer service regardless of the company.
Call our Customer Care Hotline at 1-800-347-5700 and cite this thread and tell them you'd like to try one of our clay systems, we would suggest either our new Smooth Surface Clay Kit which has won numerous awards this year.
You see that is the number one reason to use Meguiar's products, they even replace the stuff from other companies. Class all the way, and better products too. I salute you Mike and Meguiar's.

We're actually all a team here, I just have the good fortune to work on the forum, behind the scenes every person that works at Meguiar's is an important part of a collective team that works hard to insure our customer's get the best results from their time, money and efforts when using Meguiar's products.

Wow Mike, talk about going above and beyond.
You guys are awesome, but I think the problem is that I used way too much car wash soap.
I threw away the bad clay, I suppose I should've taked pics.
Thanks for your awesome support as always...
P.S. The only reason I was using a Zaino claybar was because I bought a bunch of zaino stuff as a kit like a year ago. I don't know if meguiar's clay is "better" but I'll probably start phasing out my zaino collection slowly in favor of meguiars stuff.
I've been using meguiar's products since I was 16, albeit incorrectly, so it's not like I'm a Zaino fanatic trying to "convert" people.
