  • Help Cleaning Imposible to reach Door Holders

Ok so I've been detailing cars for several years now and I can usually figure stuff out...but I need help on what should be a simple matter...

While detailing the inside of a door cabinet (holder, located under handle of the front doors, and used to hold stuff that usually doesn't really need to be in a car anyway). I could see, but could not reach the bottom to clean it. My vacuum could reach the bottom but not with bristles, so I couldn't get the dirt along the bottom edges. Any idea as to how to get somthing down in there and get the Grit?

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Might need a more 'liquid' solution.

Some Quick Interior Detailer, or even All-Purpose Cleaner sprayed on a cloth and wiped around should pick up a fair amount of the dirt.

I attach my cleaning media (brush, MF, etc.) to a long, thin stick to give me added reach. I have extensions for my vacuum nozzle too.

Perhaps a slide lock brush with some GC Foam Trim and Dash Cleaner sprayed on the end to help pick everything up.

For the really hard to reach areas I use a tool that is made for picking things up that you can't reach.
I don't know how to describe it but i will try. It is about 30" long and it is flexible has a plunger on the top that you push and four little things come out and spread apart at the bottom end. I put a small piece of cloth in the end spray with the appropriate product and then stick it into the place that I couldn't reach. These can be found at places that sell tools cost a couple dollars and really comes in handy.

Rubberband a small piece of MF to a paint stick to apply a liquid or to wipe on liquid protectant.

Same tool with tape applied sticky side out to remove pet hair or sand between seats and console and other tight areas.

Black Bart- Yeah, those are really handy to have around! I think mine was called a "parts grabber" or something like that. It came in a set with a similar long, flexible thing with a magnet for a tip.
