  • Can I QD spray over #7 polish??

I used DC#1 and #7 polish yesterday. I was too sore and daylight was running out for me to continue with the first coat of wax.

I'm parked under a carport and I know I will have a small amount of dust on the car when I go out there this a.m. I need to apply my two coats of wax today. Is it ok if I use QD (mist and wipe, not the NXT line) directly over the polish, or will that remove some of the #7 polish?? (PS, I don't have the body duster yet, or I would just use that.)

Just to clarify.....I reread my post and asked if QD would "remove" the #7 polish....of course, I already "removed" it yesterday, when I applied it then removed it before it dried. My question should have been "Will QD spray affect the car's appearance that the #7 polish gave it".

You guys know what I mean, I'm sure!!

It's funny I was just thinking about this yesterday, I was like hmmm, with #34 remove #7 considering I went inside to get a drink and came out to it all windy and there was dust on the paint, so I had to use a qd in order to safetly apply a wax. But yeah I waiting for it to calm down (just a half n hour) then I qd'd and reapplied #7 then continued. Don't take my word for it but I'm pretty sure that a qd will affect the pure polish if not remove it, so I'll just apply #7 after the qd.

If you apply and remove any pure polish correctly, there shouldn't be much of anything left on the paint surface. The purpose of the polish is to feed the paint oils by almost being absorbed into the paint via any microscopic pores in the paint. You will not have a layer of polish left on the paint if you use it properly, so there is nothing to worry about as far as removing it.

I hit enter before I could finish so...

As far as the appearance, you shouldn't have any issues with that. I use quick detail sprays after using pure polishes to clean up any residue or dusting and I never see an effect on the look.

I heard that the pure polish will be gone if, for instance, you apply it on top of a wax, but if it rains or you wash your car later, it'll be gone.
