Cleaning carpets with steam...

I just recently ordered some APC which I am very anxious to try out as soon as I receive it. I am planning on doing a complete interior detail and I have been reading up on steam cleaners which seem to be very effective for carpets.

The only problem is that steam cleaners are very expensive. I was wondering if one of these steam bottles would be an alternative solution since I am not a professional detailer and I will only be detailing my own car.

I was planning on doing the following:

- Spray some APC, scrub the carpet with my PC brush
- Use the steamer bottle to steam the carpet to kill some of the bacteria that can potentially cause odors
- **** up any remaining liquid with my Shop Vac

Does this make sense?

I got this one from Walmart for $68.88. And it work's great.

that bottle thing isnt that great, i have one and never use it
you need to refill it every 10 minutes and theres not a lot of steam..
it'll take you forever to do a whole interior

get the one chevyman suggested, its called the bissell little green, you can find it at canadian walmarts for 90ish

my process for interiors is
-little green spray over working area (or substitute any other carpet cleaner)
-use megs interior brush to .
work in
-vacuum
