  • Surface sticky after DACP & SFP

Anyone else ever have a problem with the surface feeling not as smooth or sticky after # 83 DACP or 82 SFP? I washed, clayed, then used #83 followed by 82, and the finish felt " sticky " or not as smooth as when i started. After I followed up with a coat of NXT and it was back to being very slick and smooth...
Also... 83, 82 and NXT wax were applied with the PC.

    Thanks

Ummmm. . . no. Did you work the product until it had basically disappeared? Were you using a 8006 (yellow) foam pad?

Because one black car just wasn't enough . . .

When you say sticky, do you me non-slippery to the point that taking a MF towel and pushing down on it makes it squeak? Or, as in sticky like glue?

If it is the former, then that is normal as the surface should be "squeaky" clean. But if it is the latter, then something is still on the paint. Are you wiping off the product very thoroughly? Try taking some #34 Final Inspection on a MF towel. If this removes the "stickiness" then that means that the product has not been either broken down enough in terms of #83. Or you have worked the product too long, for #82 (which should be removed while still damp).

Try the #34 FI and let us know what happens.

          Thanks for the help Tim...
Its more of the "squeaky" clean so I guess that is normal, just wanted to find out because that is really the first time I had tried # 83 on a large area of the car.
The results after 83, 82 were great, removed a lot of little scratches and spider webs, and the NXT made it slick and smooth.

          Thanks again

This is just my .02 worth, but I think the polishing oils in #83, & #82 can cause a little "grabby" feeling when touching the surface after a wipe down of the product...I've noticed this when using # 7 before.

And I agree with Tim...It's a good idea to use FI to remove some of this residue.
