  • Wax on wax off

Thanks again for all the ideas i just and responces about my previous question.
Anyways i was waxing my jeep with the Gold Class wax. I liked the way it looked after i was done. but it wasnt the easiest to remove. I do car detailing for many people during the summer months and use the regular car wax. And i find the most tiring part and annoying part is when i hafto keep rubbing to take it off. What it the best way(aside for the Karate Kid "wax on wax off") to take wax off and what it the best kind of cloth or pad. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

are you doing any paint prep? like using clay? I would use a cleaner, like deep cystyal #1. than if time permits a polish like deep cystyal #2 or even better yet #81 hand polish, this will really increase the shine. than apply your wax, gold class or even nxt!
as far as gold class being hard to remove, I'm guessing either you left it on to long, or you applied in the sun. either one of these quesses right? the sun will bake that wax fast! always apply in the shade. if need be you might want to try a light mist of quick detailer if that happens again.
another over looked product is meguiars ulitmate wipe towels. you'll be amazed at how much easier it is to remove product with this towel.I think if you try some of this, you'll find it alittle easier.

Or maybe you applied it too thick? Thinner is always better

          hard to remove

i also do a lot of detailing in the summer, and found some products hard to remove, but here are some tips.....

feel the paint with the back of your hand,if the paint is to hot to touch, than it's to hot to be waxed.

use high quality towels, like the a7202 terry cloth towels,or the micro fibers

do a surface prep, takes a bit longer, but far more better results

when you rub out, take the towel, rub it to the surface a couple of times(to break through the product),fold the towel to a clean portion, and buff to shine.

best to find a shady place to work in.

          have fun,hope i helped a bit,

          bye

I find that "rubbing" in one direction helps out as well. IMHO, it seems that rubbing back in forth only leads to more of a mess.

                next reply

next is easy to rub off,but i find the gold class gives a deeper "wet"look to dark colored cars,so,i do two coats of next by machine, and a final coat of gold class y hand for the final.
i think this is a super combination, but i have to tell,i don't have any products of the professional range yet.
i intend to buy at least the dual action polish cleaner, because i hear good things about that overhere.
if any body has ideas or must have suggestions,i will be happy to hear from you guys.

                ciao.

                  little trick........

got this little trick from David, meguiars representative in the Netherlands:
if you have trouble to rub the wax out, just mist a tiny bit of quick detailer on to it,and then it comes off really good.

David showed me this on a black ford, where he rubbed body scrub in with the pc,for a bit too long(on purpase) to show me.
                  i figure,if it works with a body scrub,why wouldn't it work with a wax?

                  ciao,
                  Rick
