  • Wet looking black tires - recommendations?

There are a number of different products all claiming to give you that wet/deep/dark/black look... I've tried a few of the wipe on products but I find they look like **** after a few days (plus road dust/sand sticks to them). Plus if you put too much on it looks sticky (for lack of a better description).

Anyone have any luck with the Megs brand?
There are two in particular I've looked at...one is insane shine... and the other is NXT ???

Any difference between the manual spray and the aerosol versions?.

Do they work? do they last? does dust stick to them within a day or two? What about overspray on the rims? or the driveway?

Are they paint/rim friendly if you happen to make a mess?
    Thanks,
    Beach.

I have both the NXT trigger and aerosol, I find the aerosol lasts a bit longer, and gets less mess on the rims than the trigger. Thats just what I have found from personal experiance. I would say go with the aerosol.

I haven't used NXT Insane Shine, but I have used both the Hot Rims Trigger (Spray) and aerosol. I prefer the aerosol since less in sometimes more, especially since it won't sling and sometimes the spray would (or maybe I put it on too thick). Hot Shine will keep a nice clean black finish after a wash a week or two later but may lose the wetness your looking for.

Another thing to remember is that any tire shine will look bad if applied to a dirty tire. I personally used another company's blackwall/whitewall cleaner with a stiffer bristled brush to get my tires black again and then dress them. Others like the NXT tire cleaner (I haven't tried it so I don't know). Hope this helps.

I use the endurance tire shine. Apply it with the foam applicator and it leaves a nice black look while not being too shiny and it lasts a good while so.

I use the all season dressing witha foam half moon applicator...works great, saves product and no dressing on rims or driveway.Check out some of the pics in my gallery to get an idea of how it looks on the tires and trim as well..

I have used the Endurance High Gloss for years and applied it with a foam applicator and got nice, long lasting results.

Then I got hooked on the aerosal NXT Insane Shine Tire Coating. Easier, cleaner to apply to the tires. You will still have to do some minor wiping of the wheels. When it dries its almost as if it puts a protective shiny layer on the tire that lasts for at least a week (until your next wash) Sometimes I don't even bother re-dressing the tires on the next wash because they still look decent.

Overall, I am very happy with the results. As always, apply them to cleaned tires for better results. The NXT Generation Tire Cleaner would work well.

Endurance is the way to go. Lasts a good month and you have a natural and high gloss to choose from.
